Mingun, situated on the northern end of the chain of Sagaing hill, 11 km upriver from Mandalay on the western bank of the Ayerwaddy River, houses some interesting tourist sites. Mingun Bell, the world largest ringing bell, 90 tons in weight, 3.7 metres in height and 5 metres across, can be found on the river bank in Mingun. Pathodawgyi is an unfinished pagoda, built to be the largest one that can be seen from a few miles away.
